Hey there everyone. I just received a question from a friend and it sparked some inspiration for a blog. I appreciate the question because it touches upon some very important ideas and something that many people are curious about these days.

He actually asked what types of exercises I do to build my core. And, while there are exercises I would recommend for specific ab or core training, I don’t tend to exercise them specifically.

I know that I have mentioned before that my preferred training method is Crossfit. My belief is that it is the perfect method for many reasons.

-Its scalable for anyone at any level of fitness from elite athletes to grandmas.
-The workouts are quick. They take up very little time in your day.
-Because the focus is compound movements, you can tend to get into much better shape in much less time and in a much more efficient way.
-The focus is a universal approach to well rounded fitness rather than specific movements to train specific body parts or for specific sports or athletic events.
-The nervous system and posterior chain is a big focus which means that the body begins to function much better. This also relates to how compound movements are used in every workout and also how the workout advocates doing different exercises in different ratios each and every day.

With all this said, I think its clear that if you are actually looking to develop true and lasting levels of fitness that will be there to help you in everyday activity and in sport than Crossfit can be your key to success.

Now, what I want to do is go over some of the basics that can help you make a standard exercise strategy into an explosive one.

Key #1-Use barbells and dumbbells often- The key here is that using barbells and dumbbells force you to balance and will engage all the muscles in your body. The core and auxiliary muscles will be engaged throughout the exercise so it becomes less important to specifically train for that washboard look that we all want and it simply begins to appear. Also, a big factor is that whenever the entire body is engaged, your nervous system responds as well and this is the most neglected part of our bodies but it should be number one on our list when we think about what we need to train.

Key #2-Do body weight exercises-Body weight exercises are all the rage these days. And, its not a surprise why. If you think about how easy (and how CHEAP!) they are to implement and how effective they are than this fact should not be a surprise to you. Body weight training, like training with barbells and dumbells, engages all auxiliary muscles, core muscles, and stimulates nervous system activity. High repetition bodyweight exercises also stimulate the creation of new capillaries in the system which dramatically increases blood flow, oxygenation, and nutrient absorption. So, do pushups, dips, air squats, and pull ups as often as you can.

Key #3-Focus on compound movements-When I train, I do things like power cleans, squat cleans, squat thrusters, lunges, squats, dips, pull ups, pushups. I tend to go through a gamut of about 30 different exercises throughout my training as I alternate exercises, but I NEVER do exercises that focus on specific muscles like biceps curls. I train for maximum efficiency so rather than focusing on specific muscles, I focus on using diverse compound (full body) movements. Within each movement certain muscles may be emphasized but other body parts are always being trained as well. This creates a HUGE metabolic effect as well.

Key #4- Train with speed in your movements- Something that Glen Glassman (creator of Crossfit) says is that if you want to develop speed than train fast. This is a large emphasis in Crossfit styled training. Typically, you would go through a circuit of exercises against a time clock. The idea is that the speed at which you can go through a workout is a measure of success that precedes the amount of weight you can lift. This is not to say that you want to neglect form. In the beginning of Crossfit training, this is the first thing that is taught. Form is of utmost importance for injury prevention. But, as you begin to gain efficiency in the exercises than the next metric is the speed at which you can go through a circuit. What this does is instill a inherent speed and a high level of fitness in your body while promoting increased metabolism, oxygenation, and nutrient delivery.

Key #5- Change your exercises as often as possble-A big concept that has found its moment in the spotlight is something called muscle confusion. And it has found its way into really amazing exercise programs like P90X and Crossfit alike. This is nothing new. The Russians discovered that changing up movements in a workout regimen on a regular basis creates the ability to avoid the dreaded plateau effect. We have all been there. We go to the gym everyday doing the same few exercises until we find that we are no longer improving. The Russians realized that simply changing even small details about the exercises that we are doing can help to push us past that plateau. It came to be known as the Russian Conjugate Method of training. What Crossfit has done is to create a program where everyday the workout is different from the day before. And you may go a month or more before repeating a workout. This creates the effect of a massive upswing for your overall fitness and your muscles are always being challenged.

So those are just a few keys to an amazing exercise program. I would encourage you to go to the Crossfit.com website and check out what they have to offer. What I am planning on doing in the near future is to create a small course simplifying the Crossfit approach and giving you a small selection of workouts that can be used and applied very simply for great effect. It is important to ALWAYS scale back the workouts as they are prescribed on the Crossfit website. You can end up in over training very very easily and this is NOT what you want. Trust me, I have been there. It is always important to go slowly at the beginning. So if any of you have any questions about the Crossfit approach please send me an email and I will explain it to you.

Peace, Love, Life!

From certain perspectives, it is a strange fact that humans tend to be guided more by what is painful than by what brings them pleasure.

In some ways, we can say that this has created a somewhat imbalanced view of reality where there are now more reasons to be in pain than there are to experience pleasure. Even my own search for health was created out of deep inner drive to no longer be sick.

So many of us are overweight. So many of us are dying of diseases of indulgence. But, we refuse to make the choice to stop overindulging even though we know on a fundamental level that this is driving us to the diseases that we would rather avoid.

We are living in a backwards reality.

We are pushed by all of our largest media sources to indulge in all of our most sensuous pleasures. We are sold fast foods, convenience foods of all kinds and then we are sold seemingly quick fixes, pills that lead us even further down the hole.

Over the past several decades this has created a culture of people who are constantly in some measure of pain. And, what is amazing is that so many different types of pain are created solely by means of the overindulgence in food and laziness.

We can’t move, we can’t think, we can’t live and the bright and shiny part of this is that we KNOW it. We are waking up at a rapid pace. And, this is why I am motivated in the way that I am.

My motivation to get away from pain resulted in me discovering a whole new level of pleasure. A level of pleasure that says to me that it is possible to never be sick. It IS possible to experience increasing levels of fitness, inner cleanliness, mental focus and clarity on an ongoing basis.

So, yes, let your pain be your motivator! And, as you begin to experience the pleasure of moving in a new direction, your focus should simply begin to shift to experience deeper and deeper levels of pleasure that have little to do with satisfying your taste buds.

As you become aware of the subtleties that have eluded you, you will know that an inner utopia is possible, and what it is going to take to achieve it.

It all starts with creating a lifestyle that encourages abundant health. It doesn’t have to take over your life but fitness, cleansing, high potency nutrition, and meditation must become at least a part of your new life.

What I realized early on, was that health of body and mind was the first step in a life of vitality. It is the first thing we need to find.

So seek your path, map out your goals, and achieve them.

Peace, Love, Life!

In a word, Hatha Yoga is the term for the physical aspect of yoga practice. Most of what we see on television, in videos, in studios, and in the different magazines produced on the subject, is what you would call Hatha Yoga.

The pretzel poses and elegant movements are a small part of the totality of Yoga. The literal translation of Yoga is union, indicating that the point of a yogic practice is to find union with the divine. So, a true yoga practice will tend to be more of a lifestyle oriented practice that affects ones nutritional habits, hygiene, relationships, and overall mindset.

A stance that I have taken over the past few years with regards to developing a fitness practice has been to look at it from a multi layered perspective.

My interest has always been on those things that have multi-faceted effects because they tend to have a higher rate of return. Higher efficiency practices tend to provide lots more results. And, that has been a driving focus in outlining what has become the Hacking the Body Mind protocol.

What I wanted to do in this post is break down some of the reasons why adding a physical yoga practice to your health regimen can be highly beneficial.

There really are a great many reasons for anyone to do yoga. But, when we look at it from a distance, it’s tough for folks to really understand where the benefits really are.

Hatha Yoga can:
1. Aid us in our weight loss efforts.
2. Strengthen the bones, joints, and muscles.
3. Help stimulate the removal of toxins.
4. Increase production of many of the “bliss” chemicals in the brain.
5. Improve the efficiency of all the systems in the body.

If you have ever observed an experienced yogi, there are a few things that you might have noticed about them. Their bodies are usually slender, their skin is tighter, they have a distinct glow and presence about them, their movements are much more graceful and flowing, and their demeanor tends to be calmer.

Now, these benefits may not come without a bit of work but overtime these are a few of the things you begin to notice as you advance in a personal practice.

Lately, as I have been practicing yoga more regularly than I have over the past couple of years, I have come to an interesting realization. And that is that yoga can immensely improve the health of the nervous system.

Any good exercise regimen does this. And, the truth is that no system of exercise has as dramatic of an effect on this area as yoga.

The nervous system is our gateway to the world. It really is the lens through which we view and interact with it. The nervous system encompasses our brain, spinal column, and all those connections that are used whenever you do just about anything.

Stress destroys the nervous system, and over a typical lifetime this leads to many of the mental and physical disorders that we see today.

Many of us have nervous systems that are completely wound up and tangled. And, this slows our reactions time, makes movement more difficult, and creates a tense disposition and an inability to focus.

Yoga frees our nervous system. It elevates mood because it can reverse the damage done over so many years of stressed-out living.

Those flowing postures, twists, bends, extensions, and balances all have the effect of expanding our nerves outwardly and reactivating them over time. This allows us to take control of our attention, it makes movement easier again, and it opens up our mind and body to higher energy fluctuations.

Yoga also forces us to move in many dimensions. This is so important. It has been proven that with certain types of movement comes activation of certain brain centers. And, without that kind of movement (or movement in general) those specific brain centers are never activated.

This is so huge when it comes to developing longevity.

It’s not very easy to achieve this type of multi dimensional movement in our daily lives. Some forms of exercise are helpful, but for the majority of us who workout in gyms and on weight machines, treadmills, and ellipticals, typical movement is extremely limited. Our bodies adapt very quickly and results begin to flat line.

Yoga, through its many postures, forces you to move in many directions…sometimes forwards, sometimes backwards, and sometimes sideways. Sometimes you’re upside down, and other times you’re right side up. In the beginning, it’s not easy. You may get tired. This is why it is especially important to start slowly.

But, with regular practice, you find that you are so much freer than you ever were before. And, this is the whole point of exercise after all.

A good fitness approach activates your nervous system, gets beneficial hormones pumping, increases blood flow, activates the brain, and stimulates bone reformation. And yoga does all of this. There are so many benefits. It opens up your world in so many ways because it opens up your gateway to the world.

The nervous system is something that we don’t usually consider when we develop an exercise regimen. But, it is so important to devise an exercise strategy that energizes and activates this part of our being. The muscles are important, but they are nothing without a working nervous system.

So, next time you head to the gym, take this into consideration. Try attending that yoga class that you’ve always been curious about. Or check out a video or two. Start where you are. Don’t worry about not being flexible enough.

Just try it. Seek to activate that body mind consciousness to the ever-present flow of life energy.

The body adapts and you will grow in your abilities. But, you have to start somewhere, and you have to start sometime.

The sooner the better.

Peace, Love, Life!

You know, a few years ago, I wrote a blog entitled, “Why Monogamy, Why Not?” and in it, I touched upon some ideas about the nature of monogamous relationships, why we want them so badly, and why they tend to fail so often.

What I basically discussed was the importance of evolving both ourselves (in order to prepare the way for finding that special someone) and of evolving our view of the nature of such a relationship (so that we could better understand how we can best deal with all the things that they bring into our lives).

That writing has received consistent interest and feedback over the past few years as I continually reintroduced it, and so I kind of wanted to update the information I discussed.

Love, above all areas of spiritual practice, I can definitely say is my favorite to explore. And, you know what, I have no idea why this is. The interplay of masculine and feminine has always intrigued me.

In the deepest aspects of my research, I suppose I have simply had an inner desire to understand those things that human beings most deeply crave and why they crave them.

What I came up with, in a nutshell, is that human beings crave one thing above all else and that is to experience ecstatic and blissful states of consciousness. In the deepest sense, this is what drives us all.

We can experience these things in many ways. Some achieve them through a simple meditation practice. Sometimes we may achieve them completely spontaneously, through some inner mental realization. Some experience them as a result of recreational drug use.

Most of all, we experience this through union with another. There is no experience in this world like that of finding that one person, is there? Its an amazing thing. It inspires us. It moves us to places beyond what we could have achieved on our own. It enhances us. It strengthens us.

Why do you suppose this truth is so undeniable? Well, I’m sure I have no way of answering that question. The answer is probably different for everybody. But, what I can say, is that connecting with someone in such a deep and profound way, in a way, is like achieving unity with the divine. It is like realizing a level of oneness that now extends outward from you. Your heart connects with their heart.

Two becoming one.

This is God consciousness being realized. Finding yourself in another is for all intents and purposes, a version of the achieving of a higher more enlightened state of awareness. Because you finally realize that you are not alone.

There is one idea that is always present within discussions about what it means to be enlightened and that is that there is a sudden realization that we are living in this vast ocean of universal energy that connects us to everyone else in existence. So, the realization of love for another and connection with them at least simulates a mini samadhi.

I was actually watching the DVD accompaniment to Ken Wilber’s program entitled, “The Integral Operating System,” and this idea actually came up.

What he discussed was that the nature of relationship was that, it truly is an imperative. And, that relationship actually sits in direct connection with every stage and level of development.

What I take that to mean is that the need for a relationship, for finding someone to love, is a real one.

According to the taoists, tantrics, esoteric christians, certain buddhists sects, and quite a few other schools of enlightenment, there are certain levels of enlightened awareness that no one can access alone. It is clearly stated (and I have actually come across this idea more than a few times) that for the seeker who refrains from the engagement in acts of spiritual and sexual union with a partner, the highest levels of enlightened awareness will remain out of reach.

Relationships, in their essence, do many wonderful things for us as individuals. They enlighten us to the things within ourselves that need to be worked out. They inspire us to achieve great things. They beckon us to dive into life ever so deeply in order to discover things that we couldn’t do alone.

But, with our current state of understanding, this all remains as a shadow in our awareness. And, rather than allowing the love of another to inspire us to connect to deeper realizations, we let them degrade us into anger, depression, and co-dependency.

Maybe it is about time we evolve our understanding of the inner workings of love and what it means to express love in an undying, and unending way, without fear of any kind.

When we find someone that loves us and that we connect with we feel we have finally received acceptance in a world where we all feel so alone. We can breath easy knowing that our existence is validated. It gives us the freedom to live and to just be ourselves.

And, we struggle with the fear of losing that person, because then we lose our acceptance and validation. Its like losing ourselves, and this, in many ways, is as scary as dying.

But, if we can learn to live in the love as a continuous and inevitable expression of who and what we ALWAYS are…maybe we can discover a more complete way to love…and be loved by another.

Before I finish this, I will leave you with a beautiful quote by Deepak Chopra…

“The best way to find yourself…is to lose yourself in another…”

Peace, Love, Light!

Greetings Everyone,

This is something I have considered for a long time and I am sure that any self aware person does.

The carefully crafted system of politics in this country seems on the surface to be one which encourages massive shifts in the way things tend to be run. We are all encouraged by our friends and family, by the media conglomerates that we watch intensely, by celebrities that we love, and sometimes even by our own conscience to vote for change.

I will never say that, as a society, change cannot be created by the simple act of voting because I truly believe that it can. But, it just doesn’t seem to me that the kind of change we NEED to see can be created through any change in the political spectrum.

We are told so often that we live in a free and democratic society where the people hold the power. It is obvious that this is not the case.

We do not live in a democracy. What we see here in America, as it relates to the way we are governed, is a plutocracy. A plutocracy relates to a society where money is the basis of power.

Some may say that those with the money make the rules. And, in certain respects, this is true.

But, what we as a people need to start to realize is that we hold ALL the power….but what is needed is for us to become aware of this fact. The most important way to demonstrate this is by deciding to VOTE with our DOLLARS first!

In a plutocracy, the open market is free to decide what policies will be implemented.

In the new movie, Food Inc., representatives from Wal-Mart discuss the corporation’s decision to stop selling growth hormone laced milk because of the public’s decision to stop buying it.

This, in my humble opinion, is a massive shift created by the TRUE power of money. The truth is that the public is granted whatever it wants and what is needed is for us all to decide that we want a cleaner, healthier planet with organic as the standard. If everyone decided to purchase organic foods and natural products, than the prices would go down and a shift would be made in a much more rapid way.

If we do not decide to become aware of how our purchases affect the world and encourage decisions in governmental and corporate policy…we will never win the game.

I don’t vote in the elections. Personally, my belief is that a bigger statement would be made if no one voted at all.

My choice is to vote each day with how I spend my money. And, everything that I do takes that into consideration.

The way I run my living space, the ways I spend my time, the foods I purchase and consume, the amount of gas we consume, whether or not we buy SUV’s or hybrid cars. Whether we buy organic food or commercially grown nutritionally denatured food.

These are the things that will decide our fate.

Remember that just a few months ago, the price for gas was hovering around $4 dollars or more a gallon.

What happened to change that?

Some may say that it had to do with the election. But, what was also happening around the same time?

Consumers began conserving their gas. They began carpooling. They began paying attention to how often they traveled and paying attention to how they consumed energy.

They became AWARE of all of these things. Why? Because it hit them in their pocketbooks.

We stopped buying gas guzzling vehicles and began asking for gas conservative vehicles.

And, that is what we got!

Oil lost value because of the simple principles of supply and demand. Supply began to increase as demand began to shrink. And, this changed its price.

Become aware of how you use your money every time you make a purchase. Determine whether it is good for you, your family, and this planet…or not. And, this will create the change we wish to see.

Peace, Love, Life!

Some may say that the institutions of science have been pretty detrimental in many ways. When we look back and consider the types of things that science has enabled (the atom bomb, depleted uranium, radiation from microwaves, cell phones, computers) it most certainly seems that the path of greater technology is the inevitable path towards destruction.

What I believe we are going through, is a point of crisis. And, what I mean by that is that we are at the threshold of a very new and unknown realm of life and living. The first brave steps are being taken into a new reality

So many things have changed as a result of the advancements of technology and it has happened so quickly that humanity has scarcely had a chance to catch up.

Humanity, in many ways, has not fully acclimated to many of the changes brought about by the level of advancement that we have achieved. One large drawback of our current stage is that, while we have fully arrived at the level of technology necessary to not only stop the damage we are doing to the planet but to also do the work to replenish it, the people of our world are hardly at a point in their own awareness that is high enough to even notice.

The world, at current, is being driven by folks who are interested in nothing more than control. And, they are advancing things along only in the direction of achieving higher levels of control for the masses. And these masses are allowing themselves to be drugged up just enough to allow this to happen.

Without a true, demonstrable, and widespread advancement in consciousness, true change cannot come.

An unaware society may for the moment be driven by something higher, but once the sought after goal is achieved, we tend to fall into complacency. And, technology, for the past 100 years, has been pushed in a single direction that supports this extreme level of complacency.

While on the surface, things are breaking down at the seams, but something deeper shows us that these are simply growing pains that will eventually subside.

Chaos theory basically states that as new energy begins to enter into an existing system, the system begins to break down. That break down lasts until the existing system begins acclimating to this new level of energy. The system then reorganizes itself arriving at a higher state of capacity.

It’s like when you were learning that seemingly impossible algebra problem when you were a kid. It seemed so hard. You might have spent a good while just trying to understand it with a deep confusion beginning to set in. And then, at last it came…the aha! moment. Suddenly, it just made sense.

The learning process is akin to the existing system coming across some new source of energy. The confusion is akin to the breakdown of the system. And, the aha is akin to the system re-adjusting and adapting to the energy and arriving at a higher level of capacity.

All of life seems to be like this when you get down to it. Even working out results in small tears in the muscles…a breakdown of the tissue. But, when those muscle tissues are at rest, they repair themselves and grow larger in order to prepare themselves for the next time they are confronted by a high level of exertion.

This relates in so many ways to what we are dealing with in the world. In the past 50 years we have discovered so much and we are now adapting to living in a world that is very techno focused. But, we are tinkering. We are tinkering with these new toys. After all, it has only been 50 years. This is a very short time.

In the past decade, what is beginning to show is the beginnings of technology having an impact on advancing consciousness. So, a newly conscious body of beings is arising. I attribute much of my learning to my connection to technology.

I wasn’t able to afford college (nor were there any schools offering degrees in what I ever really cared to study) so I made the internet and books the source of my education and I discovered a whole new world.

This is happening in many parts of the world and its growing and spreading and completely reshaping the fabric of societies and cultures everywhere.

Technology, computers, cell phones, television….all of these things are neither good nor bad. It is in how they are used that the difference is made.

The concept of Hacking the Body Mind was originally created out of a desire to find a way to bring together the technological and the organic. To find a way to uncover technologies that would be able to contribute to the advancement of human consciousness.

In this search, I discovered many things and then created the Hacking the Body Mind protocol. In many ways, I believe we are at a threshold in history. We have technology in one hand, and then we have what was always here.

They are both here now. The question is what are we going to do with them?

For most of us, running off to a cave to become immortal yogis may not necessarily be a possibility. And, then, allowing technology to take over our lives isn’t that great of an option either.
Maybe there is a way toward a balance between the two.

Healers can use computers to analyze the energetic field of a person. Anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders can be dealt with through the use of biofeedback software, cranial electrical stimulation, light and sound, and binaural beats.

Food can be grown using some of the greatest advancements in soil nutrition available. Something as simple as using dilute ocean water and ormus extracts is possible now and has only come available as a result the power of the internet and the speed of communication.

Viruses can be diminished greatly by using zappers and electronic frequencies.

Superfoods are now widely researched and available through the power of the internet.

Deeper understandings of how the body reacts to exercise have led to the creation of programs like Crossfit.

We can look at this from many angles but they all lead to a central point. Technology is advancing in such a way that it is enabling a new balance to be found. It is the nature of the universe to continue to express its need to become more and more organized.

Humanity is becoming increasingly self aware and is searching for something. Technology is making available the knowledge that humanity is searching for.

Perhaps, sometime soon, a new balance can be achieved through this culmination. This is a very exciting time to be alive. I can’t wait to see where it all goes.

Peace, Love, Life!

Greetings,

I hope all is well.

I wanted to go over something that has become clearer to me over the past few years.

Things may seem pretty bleak when we look out our windows and into the world. But, I truly beg to differ. The only reason for this is because I have opened myself up to a new way of looking at the life I live.

So many people that I meet believe that I grew up in a family of vegans and vegetarians. They think that I have just always had a flair for healthy living. But, once again, I beg to differ!

In fact, I chuckle to myself a little when folks tell me things like that because it is so far from the truth. The truth of the matter is that I was pretty typically unconscious for the majority of my early life.

I ate everything. I didn’t exercise at all. I thought yoga, tofu, vegetarianism, and spirituality were all kind of a joke.

What can I say? I was a complete skeptic.

The point of this rant is that I made a choice to live for some higher purpose. I listened to that inner voice that told me there was something better out there for me. I have in no way found actualization in this direction. But, I have found a direction.

More so, I created a direction, a whole new direction.

This only happened because I chose to open myself up to other possibilities. I felt that a different kind of life was needed to achieve personal satisfaction and so the search began for me to find it.

Right now, today, the world and its people are being given a choice.

Junk foods or superfoods, centrum or goji berries.

Google is the perfect example of an entity that serves choice. You arrive at their webpage and can either open up to a world of debauchery or a world of enlightened consciousness.

Google can either open up a world where every possibility exists for you to waste away every moment of your life, or you can choose something different. You can choose to learn something new, to expand your knowledge, to build a name for yourself, to build a business.

The choice is yours as it always is. We each have to be the ones to choose the things we want for our lives.

But, the key is, to choose to not choose. We have to get out of the world of duality. We have to realize that the borders that seem to separate us, are more like thresholds that bring us together.

We have to learn to acknowledge, accept, and allow everything to flow. We have to learn to stop resisting things we don’t like.

To do this, all of this, is once again, a choice.

Choose to open up, to allow new possibilities to arise for your life, to stop looking at things as opposites, and to realize that everything is here to teach us something.

Disease teaches us that we need to take an active approach toward healing ourselves. Economic disaster teaches that we need to re-prioritize.

We can learn from success, but we can learn even more from failure.

Choose. Just choose.

Peace, love, Life!

Sometimes, I have to say, I sit back and think about what it is I really would like to see come about from all the efforts that so many put forth to help the world become healthier, more vibrant, more open, more aware, more awake….

There are so many ways that we can go at this point because the truth is that we are moving into a very new era.

Ken Wilber says we are moving into the era of the individual, that we are all beginning to find that divinity within. We are to a point where we are, kind of by default, awakening to our own potential. We are starting to wake up to the truth of a new world where we can live interdependently with abundant levels of love, compassion, generosity, and gratitude.

For me, I have always simply gravitated toward wanting to understand how to listen to that deep intuition, to wanting to feel healthier, to wanting to understand the purpose for all this.

I think on a whole, those internal learnings are starting to manifest. More people than ever are becoming mindful of what they eat and how they live.

A big thing that I am seeing is that folks are really trying very hard to find the meaning within their lives. We are, as a collective, moving out of simply wanting to make money for the sake of making money, and we are moving into finding ways to spend our time that are helpful and meaningful.

So many are asking,” What is the point of all this? Where is the meaning in my life?”

These are scary times, no one can deny this. The chaos of the world’s political and economic systems cannot be denied by anyone.

But, are there reasons for this?

In the universe, there is no action that doesn’t have a subsequent reaction. Things always seem to have a purpose, even if that purpose is not clear to us at the time.

One of the most difficult periods in recent world history was the Tsunami in 2004. Many people did not survive and there was lots of devastation.

I will not try to downplay this.

But, something that did not make the news was that the next year, many villages that were located in the areas of coastline affected by the Tsunami experienced some of their greatest rice harvests in years.
The reason for this is clearly due to the many tons of minerals that were re-deposited into the soils that were used to grow the rice. Something that we all should be aware of is that in many areas of the world the soil is depleted of the nutrients it requires to properly sustain food growth.

Though the Tsunami had some extremely destructive effects, it also had some startlingly positive effects.

This is universal intelligence in action.

Some may ask why the universe would choose to destroy so many innocent people. This is a question no one would be able to answer.

What is clear is that there perhaps was a reason for the disaster. Perhaps the universe sensed the oncoming nutrient depletion that would eventually result in significantly lower food crops and mass starvation and created the tidal wave to remedy this.

Oftentimes it is necessary to find positives in even the toughest of situations.

One thing I know is that my search for health, my search for understanding and higher awareness was far from easy. But, if these are the inevitable rewards, I am willing to go through the fire.

In the world I wish to see, the most important thing will be that people are awake to their inner divinity, to their inner power, to their all-oneness. We need to all feel true self appreciation so that we can learn to appreciate everyone and everything else.

I suppose there isn’t much that has to change in the way things are run. People can still be accountants, engineers and such. But, perhaps, in the near future those accountants, engineers, doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, salespeople….will know that the highest good must be achieved for all who take part so that some measure of peace can be sustained.

What is wealth, when all the world is suffering?

Maybe in schools, there will be made a place for teaching kids how to achieve a conscious life. Maybe there can be meditation breaks in kindergarten rather than naps.

In the world I wish to see, kids will be taught from the earliest age, to achieve the balance of a healthy life and a productive life. They will be shown that there is value in everything the earth provides us. They will be shown how to love….to really really love….just for the sake of loving.

Perhaps then we will begin to see the kind of world we all want.

Peace, Love, Life!

In the past few years, I think the point has been made that the lives we have created around us are just way too complicated.

Our current economic crisis proves that what we have created is a situation where our priorities are really just out of order.

We spend too much money, waste too much time, we stimulate ourselves into oblivion, and then take energy pills, red bull, and espresso shots to keep ourselves going. Something needs to change in this scenario.

And, the economic crisis has made this clear.

We need to reprioritize our lives. We need to figure out what is most important. I don’t want to tell you that it’s not OK to seek things in life that bring you pleasure. But, we need to grow out of the instant gratification model of over consumption and waste and acknowledge our responsibility to ourselves, our loved ones, and the world around us.

The point is that finding ways to simplify our lives is what’s most important. We need to kind of break the fabric down and rebuild.

I find this to be a pretty common sentiment among those that I talk to. On a whole, we are beginning to realize this. And, if there is any lesson that we can take out of the financial crisis, this is it.

We spend too much, we seek external pleasure that lasts but a moment, and never look at those things that will bring us true internal and lasting feelings of bliss. For a long time, I was no different.

In many ways, I have come to believe that life is simply about growth and learning. As human beings, the ultimate search is for the divine presence within us. The problem is that monetary gain, obtaining physical possessions, the ecstasy of orgasm, the heightened sense awareness created by hallucinogenic drugs….even lying blissed out in front of the television…has come to represent and take the place of the search for that inner divinity.

What is needed is to stop, center ourselves, and realize that the God presence is within us all.

We need to clear our lives of the clutter, clear our bodies of toxins, uplift ourselves in oneness, as well as in our relationships.

I seek pleasure in simplifying and focusing the goals of my life. There is great power in focusing our attention.

I seek to exalt myself through yoga, meditation, exercise, raw foods, good friends, and a focused engagement with life.

What else do we really need?

You don’t have to do what I do. But, some of the lessons you might learn from taking a look at my offerings may reveal some lessons that spark something in you.

And, if you want to learn a very simple approach to health, look no further than the Hacking the Body Mind Protocol which is outlined in the e-book for sale at my website.

It explains all of the things I have learned about over the years that contribute to lasting health andmvitality, and that will help you become clear on where you are headed in your life.

Take a look at what it has to offer.

For so many, as we begin to re establish changes in our lives, the realization hits that health must become a priority. We start to realize that without health, the big house, the Ferrari in the driveway, and that gorgeous yacht just doesn’t mean much.

Then, it becomes an uphill battle toward actually figuring out what information is good and what is not.

The point of the Hacking the Body Mind protocol was to break it all down to a very simple approach so that anyone could achieve wonderful results without all the technical back and forth.

Cheers to you and your new approach to living.

Peace, Love, Life!
