I am sure we have all been there. We attempt to make a changes in our lives, changes for the better with the intent of finding improvement in some area.

What happens next? Quite often something or someone comes in to the picture with the intent (conscious or unconscious) of throwing us off course. Maybe a parent or your lover or perhaps life may throw you a situation that takes your mind off your new found course.

Why does this tend to happen so often? For me, this natural resistance seems to show up just as I am making the greatest strides in all the right directions. Something always comes in, no matter how briefly it may remain, that throws my attention some other way.

It can come in many ways and in many versions. Perhaps it comes when you are learning something new, in the form of some struggle and confusion while adapting to the new stimulus. Or perhaps a parent or friend accuses you of wishful thinking while you are embracing a new path toward a deeper spirituality or way of life.

I mean, truly, I have seen resistance come in at the oddest moments.

Bill Harris, the creator of Holosync technology and founder of Centerpointe Research Institute, talks about chaos theory.

To sum it up, chaos theory suggests that, as more energy is poured into a system (as you begin attempting to learn a new math problem for instance) the systems initial reaction is to break down (you may get confused in the initial stages of learning the math problem).

Then comes the point of resistance. And, what we tend to see happen as a result of pushing through this resistance at the end point of this period of chaos is that the system reorganizes itself at a higher level of capacity than it had before the energy entered into it (you push through the confusion of the initial learning process and you solidify your understanding of the new problem and are now able to move on to solve higher level equations).

As a result of practicing meditation with holosync, and of the development of my current lifestyle in a general sense, I have become acutely aware of those things that come in as resistance and I have learned to identify them as they arise.

By becoming aware of the resistance as it comes up, I have allowed myself to change my reactions and to develop a deeper emotional stability in relation to seeming negative stimulus.

What most of us tend to do (and I did this for years) is hold onto the negative energy and give it strength within our awareness. And, this is why we get knocked off course. When this energy is allowed to disperse, it moves through us just like anything else and we are then allowed to return to a more balanced state of mind. .

Why do so many people fail at these moments? Why do they fall prey to the resistance that shows up?

Maybe we have to look at the nature of resistance differently to understand this. Perhaps if we looked at these deep and trying times in our lives, when stress and anxiety are highest, as tests or challenges to overcome then they would contribute to the strengthening of our minds.

I think whats most important is to stop resisting the resistance. Its the act of resisting these tough circumstances, out of anger or fear, that gives them attention. And, that in its nature makes them stronger. And then that inevitably makes these times in our lives so much more difficult.

Now, that is not to downplay these stresses, anxieties, and emotions. I will not say that they are not there for a reason. Or, that they are only in a persons head. Because we all have things in life to deal with, hard situations that are hoisted upon us by others.

Believe me when I say, I understand this.

But, I also realize, that as a person who was once quick to anger, guilt, shame, depression, and aggression, it was not until I began to look at these feelings as they came up, that I began to become more centered in myself and in the face of others and in the world.

I see so many who are angry at others, who refuse to forgive or release their anger towards the abuses that someone else wrought. I understand this because it doesn’t make sense at all that anyone should suffer at the hands (or mouth) of someone else.

But, if you harbor anger towards others, guilt, shame, if you resist those things that scare you, all you are doing is making life harder on yourself.

Stop resisting the resistance. Just the other day, I had someone close to me start yelling at me for pretty much no reason at all. And, now I am not gonna say I didn’t argue back.

But at some point I just stopped. I let them complete their rant because I knew that this was just another form of resistance coming at me from the universe as a test. It was a test to see if I am internalizing all the things I am trying to learn and develop in myself.

I failed miserably at the outset but I feel that I can look on that situation with a sense of gratitude for at least coming to that realization.

I stopped resisting it, made sense of it, allowed it, and now it has passed. Or at least I am not letting if affect me.

That is my two cents. My eyes are hurting so I’m gonna take a break from this thing.

Thank you all for all of your support!

Peace, Love, Life!

Hello Everyone,

I hope this post finds you all well. I wanted to write today about something that is possibly the most difficult hurdle for most people to get over when it comes to getting in shape, losing weight, or making just about any change that might make their lives better.

In my book, there is a section entitled Opening up to Love and in it, I basically go over the small part of us all that oftentimes keeps us from making beneficial changes.

At this point, I don’t think anyone would disagree that in our culture we have a hard time with things like self esteem, self respect, and self love. We want to be everyone’s friend. We ask and ask and ask for others to love us but we never find that love that we seek.

We live dependent on everyone else’s opinions of us. And, we never truly look deeply within ourselves to find out what it is that we want.

We tend not to love ourselves enough and this has to change. Until we find appreciation for ourselves we will not take the steps necessary to change. Deep down we do not believe we deserve to change. And, so on the surface it just seems like we are not motivated.

We may encounter short spurts of inspiration but those never really take hold and so we fall short. We rely on our emotions to tell us what we need. And, those emotions are always dependent on external stimuli.

Right now, you need to look deeply into yourself. Right now, you need to decide what you want for yourself. Right now, the change needs to be started so that the results you receive from the changes you make create the feelings that motivate you further.

Motivation is not something that just shows up and it is not something that you need to wait for. For most, desperation needs to ensue, rock bottom needs to be reached before a change is made.

Haha….well you need only look outside your door. Look at the news or read a newspaper and you will see rock bottom. Look at the untold millions of people dying everyday and suffering for no reason at all. I’m sure you know someone or a few people who have suffered from diabetes, or heart disease, or cancer, obesity, or Alzheimer’s.

Maybe you yourself are one of those people. But, yet you are waiting for the motivation to hit. Look in the mirror and you will see your motivation.

Love of self…

Peace, Love, Light!

You know, sometimes this process of trying to find some sort of sense of higher consciousness can be pretty difficult.

In some ways, this thing that I (and many others) have started has sort of become a process in trying to figure out whether or not one can pursue and actually attain a higher state of consciousness in this modern society.

Sure, its one thing to be a yogi in a cave doing handstands and sun salutations seeking oneness with the eternal self. But, when you are living in a modern techofied world, having to interact on a day to day basis and work for a living so that you can one day support a family….this is another thing entirely.

Sometimes it just makes more sense to run off and become a monk.

I would like to think that you all know that I in no way think of myself as a pioneer in this sort of thing. There have been many aspirants, pursuers, and developers of a newly evolved and all encompassing, open to all version of enlightenment.

Andrew Cohen and Ken Wilber are but a few of those that have dissected and pioneered this new path.

But, what I am starting to realize is that what we are really doing is quite possibly akin to the development of the first personal computers.

They were slow, a little dreary, highly complex….but there were glimmers of hope that were beginning to show. There were signs pointing a new more glorious direction and it seemed almost inevitable that magnificent things would be accomplished if the creation of these new devices could be seen to its completion.

Now, we are living in a world where technological advancements happen daily as the speed of communication and information dissemination becomes infinite.

The path of developing my own state of consciousness has been very hard, both for me and for the many who have so boldly decided to traverse this new unknown path. Its different and being different is sometimes very lonely. Even more so, what I have found is that opening the flood gates to the ever expanding river of consciousness sometimes can have results that are less than easy to deal with.

I have spent a lot of time trying to find my way back after traveling a few more steps than I should have down certain rather treacherous paths.

But, this is no different than where the computer was just a few short decades ago. Now, the computer is directly interwoven into every fabric of our daily life and new applications for computer technology are being developed constantly.

This is where I truly see this new path of evolving consciousness going. And, this is what has driven me to seek out as many tools as I could to ease the process of humanity’s evolvement, which eventually resulted in the birthing of the Hacking the Body Mind protocol.

In the end, what my answer has become to those yogi’s who were afforded the luxury of decades of complete solitude is a protocol which employ’s modern technology to speed the process towards total transformation and demystifies the message of expanding consciousness.

I will continuously admit that I am standing on the shoulders of giants in so many ways. But, where this program is unique is how it fits the many pieces together in a way that is completely synergistic.

The synergy comes from applying different things that connect at a central point. That point is to open up the channels of the body and mind and then amplify the internal and external strengths of both while providing a space from which a new humanity can grow and blossom.

Don’t you want to be a part of this new and unfolding evolutionary leap? I know I do.

Peace, Love, Life!

The nature of the law of attraction and its connection to beliefs, this is something I am sure we have all given plenty of thought to over the course of the past few years.

The “Secret” or the Law of Attraction has been invading our culture with ideas of personal manifestation for a while now. Its pretty interesting to watch the expansion of this concept into the realm of mass consciousness.

What does it mean? Is everyone just trying to find an easy fix for the lacking successes in their lives? Or, is it coming from a deeper sense of what we are all truly capable of?

I am sure it is likely a little bit of both. And that is OK. It is usually the hardships that inspire us to find ways to achieve great things. The tendency for those who achieve success, sometimes, is to lead oneself down a road to stagnation.

But, if we find some level of inspiration, it has always been my belief that we can really make great things happen.

So, really, what is it that makes it possible for simply believing something to make it come to realization? Is this really such a fantastical notion?

A basic analysis of the structure of beliefs would easily reveal that they are direct representations of the values that we hold. And, as values, they represent the deeper perspective through which we see the world.

If our beliefs are directly a part of our perspective, than we will do things that make our beliefs reality, because our values determine the things that we do and don’t do.

Lets just say that I truly believe that I am loved. Then I will show this in my actions by regularly doing things that generate mutually beneficial relationships. If I believe that I am unlovable then my actions will be of isolating myself from others.

Now, on the other hand, if I simply SAY that I am loved, but, I do not BELIEVE this, than my actions will not be congruent with the idea that I am attempting to cultivate. So, this is a more concrete way of explaining how beliefs tie into manifestation.

For the past few years I have made a study of the different levels of health, how to improve them, and how they affect our lives. And, I can honestly say that even before I had any direct experience with any of it, I believed deep down that improving health, improves your life. And, on many levels, that value is now represented in my daily experience.

Beliefs, if they are actual, eventually unfold as actions in your reality.

Do you see what I am getting at? If we truly believe something, we will find a way, through our actions, to make that belief show. This is manifestation. Or at least its a part of it. I am in no way an expert on the subject. But, I believe that it is possible. And that’s why I am here. I want more input. I would love to discuss it with you.

Beyond this, I also think a state of gratitute is important, maybe even more so than beliefs.

A wonderful quote that I tend to use a lot goes like this…

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

This is a quote from Dr. Wayne Dyer and I am a big believer in its message. But the nature of what it expresses is that, finding reasons to be thankful for anything that comes about in your life, whether good or bad, is the first rule for creating a life in which you really are grateful.

Giving thanks to the Universe, for every challenge and every triumph, creates the pathway by which the universe is allowed to send us more things that we will be grateful for. The universe is a mirror of our consciousness. And, if we send out love and abundance, then love and abundance will be returned.

Lets look at this on a smaller scale, if you do something that is helpful to others, and they sincerely thank you for it, what do you want to do? You want to do more of it, don’t you?

This concept is really universal but it’s not always easy to implement. Sometimes we are most inclined to think most about the things we are not thankful for. We complain to God, our friends, our family. And, when this is the case, what kinds of things do we see most often in our lives?

Rather, would it not be more beneficial to figure out what it is about our life’s challenges that we can be thankful for?

The nature of life is an ebb and flow. We can’t escape the down turns. I have had relationships, jobs, and situations that have went sour. Trust me, I have been there plenty. And yes I have even done my fair share of complaining. Then, when I realized what was going on (which took me a very very long time…) I began to find reasons to be thankful even for all that.

Dealing with hard jobs builds determination and focus, maybe some patience. Dealing with bad relationships helps us to notice the things in ourselves that might have contributed to the negative aspects of the situation. If we are aware then we look at our level of co-dependence and maybe seek some means to therapeutically deal with it and release it.

I implore you to explore this in your own life. Change the way you perceive your world. Begin to feel grateful for exactly where you are, right where you stand, right now in this very moment. And, inevitably you will begin to see and experience positive change.

And, it will come hard and fast.

Peace, Love, Light!

We all have a basis in divinity. We have all been put here with a purpose. No matter who you are, or where you are in life, you have potential for total life mastery within you.

The first step is to learn to allow the light of consciousness to begin to flow through you and open you up to the deeper knowledge and guidance of your higher self.

In many ways, the current state of our lives trains us off the search for deeper meaning. We are told to go to school, graduate high school, go to college, and then find a career based on a very limited set of choices.

This may just be fine for some. Some folks may just have been put on earth to be lawyers, doctors, accountants, or journalists.

But, the inspiration for a direction should come from inside and not from the instructions of parents, teachers, or anyone else.

An underlying goal of the work I am doing through Hacking the Body Mind has always been the creation of a way to facilitate the finding of ones divine purpose. It was originally catalyzed as way to discover techniques for opening myself up to the light of the universe….to my intuition and higher guidance.

Once someone develops even a small level of awareness, one of the first things they start to want to find is a way to live healthier.

A healthy life facilitates a much easier way with the world. The process of attaining your goals depends on many factors and I don’t want to make you think that once you start eating raw food, exercising, and meditating that things will automatically become easier.

But, the cleansing of the body’s channels, the strengthening of its systems, and the establishment of a more focused mind allows the creation of higher consciousness to come much more smoothly.

My life is not perfect, far from it. But, that is not the point. The point is that humanity is on a search for a mission. Something that I am hearing more and more is, “Where is the meaning in what I am doing?” It is becoming somewhat of a battle cry.

The economic crisis may just be a representation of humanity realizing that, on a whole, it is just tired of going to a meaningless job, to earn meaningless money, to spend on meaningless things.

Yes, we all need money. But, the dream is to earn it doing what we love.

That is what I want.

Learn to live your life ON purpose. Take a look at the program I outline in my book. Use it as a guide to opening yourself up to a new pattern of intention.

That’s its purpose. It is a DIY manual for healing the body and mind and resetting your state to a more receptive, open, and abundant level of awareness.

Peace, Love, Life!

So, I am a big believer in the existence of opposing polarities. It’s not that things exist separately but that the world is divided into opposing forces which exist interdependently with one another.

The feminine and masculine tend to reside at opposing ends of the spectrum. The feminine shines, she excites, she intoxicates, she inspires. The masculine drives, controls, creates functionality, stabilizes and moves things forward.

We think of them as separate in our religiously inspired dualistic minds. But, each are here to balance the other. They are both equally necessary and the world is best when both are working in equal measure.

Much of what we see in the world today, its structure, its technology, its thought processes, would not be here if it were not for the overwhelming influence of the masculine force and its drive to create and improve everything it sees and touches.

The masculine is never truly comfortable unless it is building something, improving, moving in the direction of a goal. The feminine in most cases would much prefer play over work. She encourages us to go out and dance the night way, or to release our tension in a fit of blissful ecstasy.

The feminine is content to simply shine her light in radiance while the masculine is not content unless it is following that light in the direction of its own purpose. Men are creators, pursuers of those things that are to bring freedom, contentment, and stability to our lives.

But, in so many ways, men are no longer men. The masculine need to move has not been acted upon by many of our fathers, husbands, sons, significant others.

As men we are no longer living with purpose. And, we ignore the feminine when it calls us to something higher. We want to experience the feminine but we do not want to bring ourselves to a point where we are deserving of the gifts she wishes to give.

We are no longer worthy. We are angry, depressed, and lifeless.

This truly is my opinion. It is understandable because in a lot of ways, the masculine as an overall experience has been beaten down by over protective mothers and controlling wives.

And, over the millenia, it has become too far driven by the ego. By a need to exploit and control.

With the coming shift in cosmic consciousness, I think we are coming to a balance between what the masculine and feminine offer. This is so important because it is only when the many opposing forces work together that the world can truly come to its fruition.

It is an exciting time to be alive. To see what is being created in the caverns of cosmic consciousness is really intensely exciting. But, we have to get our act together. As men, we have to rediscover what makes us men. We have to find our purpose. We have to reclaim responsibility for our lives and those of our companions.

We have to stop wallowing in the pain of rejection, fear, emotional tension, and bondage. We have to stop begging our women to love us and begin showing them why we deserve their love.

If you are having problems in your relationship to your woman it is because you have let her down in some way. You have lost site of your purpose.

Our lovers are constantly testing us, prodding us, to see where we are, if we are conscious, awake and listening. They want to know that we are ready to protect them. They want to know that we are capable of providing them the strength that they require to feel safe in the world.

The measure of a man is his ability to remain calm and undisturbed in the face of the obstacles that the world throws his way.

The purpose of the feminine is to inspire us toward an understanding and a pursuing of our ultimate purpose. But, not before she tests us to make sure we are awake.

I say, stop reacting to the emotional displays your woman throws at you. Stop trying to help her through her problems with your logic. Begin, loving her truly. Love your woman from the deepest parts of yourself and you will find that that is the only thing she truly needs.

Be the space within which your woman can shine. You have to provide her that space. Her energy just is. It is here. She draws us in and offers us so much.

But unless we remain steadfast and single pointed on our purpose we will never be worthy of her gifts.

Peace, Love, Light!

We come upon this idea quite often in life, don’t we? I don’t think it is really understood fully why stress is so detrimental. We are told, anecdotally, by our parents, psychologists, doctors and friends that we need to avoid stress. But, do we have a grasp as to why stress hurts us? Is it really only psychological? Or are there other things at work here?

Well, today I wanted to try to clear up the topic a little bit for you. Perhaps I can even give you a few ways that will help you learn to deal with stress in a more productive way.

Alright, so, what is stress? It is something we feel most in our mind. And, yes it can have disasterous effects on this area of our body. Stress completely clouds our thinking and our ability to react positively to life.

Yet, sadly, for the majority of us, life is pretty much a journey from one stressful situation to another.

Daily, we are bombarded by hundreds if not thousands of advertisements hitting us up for our money. We turn on the television only to be forced to witness violence, anger, aggression, jealousy, hate in the scenarios unfolding in the shows we watch.

And, do not even get me started on the trash given to us as news.

We go to work, only to encounter one stressful situation after another, and then to have our boss tell us how we are not living up to the companies’ expectations. And we do it all for a paycheck that typically provides us with just enough to get by until the next one shows up.

Now, is this not an accurate depiction of the way the majority of the world population lives? Perhaps, things are changing, but these types of changes take a while to take hold. And, yes, all this stress does nothing but age us faster and bring us a life of physical pain and disease.

Well, why is that?

There is something called, “fight or flight” that we were all probably taught about in school. Don’t you remember? In biology class? It was something that happened in our bodies that gave us the ability to either fight like the dickens or run like we have never run before, when we came upon a bear or a lion as we were evolving in the days of our primitive ancestors.

It is a response mechanism that actually made us stronger. We could literally run faster or fight harder.

That is the stress response. It is an inherited survival mechanism. It is how our bodies react to a feeling of fear regardless of whether that fear is real or imagined.

Fear is generated in the mind or brain from an outside stimulus, a T-Rex perhaps. And, then our bodies begin to generate a cascade of hormones, cortisol and adrenalin just to name a few. These hormones trigger our blood vessels to constrict or tighten so that our hearts have to pump faster and we have to breath harder in order to get blood through the body.

Do you not normally begin to breath heavier during a run or sprint or some other type of physical exersion? Well, that is because oxygen buffers the lactic acid that is generated as a result of that physical stimulation.

Lactic acid is the substance that creates the intense burn that forces you to stop working out when you overexert yourself. And, the oxygen we take in as a result of breathing heavier helps to keep that burn at bay for just a little bit longer.

But, this is what made the “fight or flight” response so useful. We were almost automatically able to exert ourselves much longer and harder than is normally possible.

But there is something else to consider.

Every healing mechanism in your body is shut down in response to this survival stimulus. Digestion is inhibited. Proper brain function is deactivated. Cells cannot be repaired and regenerated when we are in this state. Waste cannot be removed from the body.

Any mechanism of repair and growth is turned off.

Why? Well, because all of the body’s energy is directed toward helping us survive in that moment! And, if we were still living on the planes of the Serengeti, hunting lions for food and fighting bears for our own survival, this really would be a GREAT thing!

Fast forward to now. Our boss yells at us for an hour about why he is thinking about firing us or we fight with our spouse on the phone about why we are at the office too much or we sit and stare at an ever increasing stack of bills wondering how we are ever going to get them paid.

This is how we live. Every time we turn on the television we are subject to a stress response. Every time we are made to think of situations like 9-11 or some murder that just happened or we watch in suspense as some hurricane or other natural disaster washes over a city and wait as the results of the destructive force are laid out for us.

This is how we live. We LIVE everyday…every moment…in a state of fight or flight!

Until we change this, nothing about our current world will change. But, we first have to change it in ourselves by, in as many ways as we can, deactivating stress’ hold on our lives.

Now, what are some practical ways that we can use to change and improve the way we deal with stress?

Well, exercise is one great thing. Exercise is a stress in itself in fact. But, it is a CONTROLLED stress. And it is temporary. The kind of exercise that I do, Crossfit, is an amazing way to generate a controlled stress response in the body.

But, as our bodies build up these stress hormones during exercise, we USE them and then our bodies discard them. They do not just sit there in our bodies wasting away our tissues. In typical daily life, we sit in a stressful situation creating these hormones, but we are not preparing to fight our bosses! We are not literally running away from our spouses!

These hormones are destructive for every part of your body.

So, an exercise program, helps us to learn to cope with the stress response by creating a controlled response in the body. Beyond the idea of increasing your level of fitness, this is really one reason to love it and to do it on a regular basis.

Another way of deeply enhancing our way of responding to and coping with stress is to meditate using a program like The Holosync Solution.

I have used it to deal with some of the most stressful periods of my life. And, I am now on the third level of the program. What it has done for me is immense and it can be for you.

Holosync, using binaural beat technology, creates a stress response in the brain that is similar to that of exercise. And, over time, it aids your brain in being able to generate better hemisphere coherence. Your waves become deeper and less confused. Your brain learns to develop higher amounts of healing hormones also.

And, as the carrier frequency of the soundtracks deepen as you progress through the program, you become able to deal with higher and higher levels of stress.

The program is amazing and the support material is outstanding.

I hope that you all try it and let me know what you think of it.

So, give it a shot. You have nothing to lose.

Peace, Love, Light!

Sometimes, I have to say, I sit back and think about what it is I really would like to see come about from all the efforts that so many put forth to help the world become healthier, more vibrant, more open, more aware, more awake….

There are so many ways that we can go at this point because the truth is that we are moving into a very new era.

Ken Wilber says we are moving into the era of the individual, that we are all beginning to find that divinity within. We are to a point where we are, kind of by default, awakening to our own potential. We are starting to wake up to the truth of a new world where we can live interdependently with abundant levels of love, compassion, generosity, and gratitude.

For me, I have always simply gravitated toward wanting to understand how to listen to that deep intuition, to wanting to feel healthier, to wanting to understand the purpose for all this.

I think on a whole, those internal learnings are starting to manifest. More people than ever are becoming mindful of what they eat and how they live.

A big thing that I am seeing is that folks are really trying very hard to find the meaning within their lives. We are, as a collective, moving out of simply wanting to make money for the sake of making money, and we are moving into finding ways to spend our time that are helpful and meaningful.

So many are asking,” What is the point of all this? Where is the meaning in my life?”

These are scary times, no one can deny this. The chaos of the world’s political and economic systems cannot be denied by anyone.

But, are there reasons for this?

In the universe, there is no action that doesn’t have a subsequent reaction. Things always seem to have a purpose, even if that purpose is not clear to us at the time.

One of the most difficult periods in recent world history was the Tsunami in 2004. Many people did not survive and there was lots of devastation.

I will not try to downplay this.

But, something that did not make the news was that the next year, many villages that were located in the areas of coastline affected by the Tsunami experienced some of their greatest rice harvests in years.
The reason for this is clearly due to the many tons of minerals that were re-deposited into the soils that were used to grow the rice. Something that we all should be aware of is that in many areas of the world the soil is depleted of the nutrients it requires to properly sustain food growth.

Though the Tsunami had some extremely destructive effects, it also had some startlingly positive effects.

This is universal intelligence in action.

Some may ask why the universe would choose to destroy so many innocent people. This is a question no one would be able to answer.

What is clear is that there perhaps was a reason for the disaster. Perhaps the universe sensed the oncoming nutrient depletion that would eventually result in significantly lower food crops and mass starvation and created the tidal wave to remedy this.

Oftentimes it is necessary to find positives in even the toughest of situations.

One thing I know is that my search for health, my search for understanding and higher awareness was far from easy. But, if these are the inevitable rewards, I am willing to go through the fire.

In the world I wish to see, the most important thing will be that people are awake to their inner divinity, to their inner power, to their all-oneness. We need to all feel true self appreciation so that we can learn to appreciate everyone and everything else.

I suppose there isn’t much that has to change in the way things are run. People can still be accountants, engineers and such. But, perhaps, in the near future those accountants, engineers, doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, salespeople….will know that the highest good must be achieved for all who take part so that some measure of peace can be sustained.

What is wealth, when all the world is suffering?

Maybe in schools, there will be made a place for teaching kids how to achieve a conscious life. Maybe there can be meditation breaks in kindergarten rather than naps.

In the world I wish to see, kids will be taught from the earliest age, to achieve the balance of a healthy life and a productive life. They will be shown that there is value in everything the earth provides us. They will be shown how to love….to really really love….just for the sake of loving.

Perhaps then we will begin to see the kind of world we all want.

Peace, Love, Life!

This is a topic that I am sure we all give a good bit of thought to. What is monogamy? Why has it become so intrinsically linked with the value system of our society? Is there a purpose that is served with the acquisition of it?

Well, we can address the question of purpose by saying that monogamy is needed for marriage to work. Marriage is needed for procreation to come about. And, procreation leads to the completion of the family. Within all those aspects are thought to be contained an intrinsic and absolute expression of love throughout.

All of the above, is absolutely true. Monogamy is absolutely necessary for a man and a woman to achieve a family. And that can indeed be considered to be at the pinnacle of happiness in this life. So, why do so many marriages and relationships fail? And, why are so many families being torn apart because either the man, woman, or both come to the conclusion that they are unfulfilled in some way?

This has always been the tough part to get for me. It is surprising that while so many relationships are failing, so many of us continue to press on, searching for that person that will finally complete us. Either side certainly has ample reason to blame the one opposing because both play an active role in this vicious cycle. But why is it this way?

I have concluded that we have come to look at the ideas of relationship, love, and sexuality in such a limited way, and from such a merely material perspective, that we have become unable to see the higher purpose of anyone of them. What do you think that could be? Do you think it is possible that these concepts can even have a purpose other than the aforementioned?

Well, if we look at them in the order in which they were originally intended, first there has existed the individual man and woman. They at some point meet and through a general attraction for each other, love is found. Then sexual union would be followed by the creation of a new living being.

If we look at that idea from the point of view of many of the ancient Taoist teachings we find that even in their system of spiritual cultivation the same thing exists but in an existential (rather than material) way. In those cultures, each individual would first be shown ways to cultivate their own singular conscious awareness, through meditation and so forth.

As that awareness increased then it would be obvious that another cultivated being would be needed for either person to reach a new level, the highest level, of ultimate consciousness. This would be done through a kind of ritualistic sexual alchemical union to produce the immortal seed.

Is it possible that the men and women of today are simply seeking to satisfy their need to experience this higher state without realizing it? I am sure no one would deny that they feel the happiest when they are connecting with another person. I know this for certain and have experienced it. Is it not pretty easy to see that the experience of orgasm is simply the highest and most satisfying expression of that connection?

I think it is. The fact that a whole new life can be sparked by this makes it pretty clear. There is such an abundance of energy within the experience of orgasm that it can almost mimic satori or samadhi in many ways.

It is unfortunate that so many people are beating themselves down emotionally by running around trying frantically to find that one person that they can spend their lives with without understanding the true underlying purpose.

As I said, you are never as fundamentally happy, as when you are connecting emotionally with another person. But to look at it so one-dimensionally puts us at odds with ourselves. Perhaps we can look at it another way. Perhaps we should begin to view it in a way that helps the idea of monogamy make more sense than it seems to at the moment.

What would happen if we changed our priorities a bit and if, instead we had as our top priority, personal cultivation?. Maybe the achievement of true love of another would come much easier because it would be simply an extension of the existing love that we have cultivated within.

If I achieved an overabundance of love for myself, does it not make sense that it would spill over into almost a need to express that excess of love to another (instead of only wanting to…be loved by another)?

And, then, the next would be to realize that that mutual connection, that other person, is needed for me to reach even higher levels of realization.

That other person would then seem more like a vessel or channel for self actualization. That would be opposed to the current idea of being merely someone to spend time with, or grow old with. That idea has been romanticized to death, but it really isn’t so romantic.

The idea of having a partner in life who is helping me to bring about my own capacity for understanding myself and the world around me. Now THAT is romantic.

If that idea was put in place and acted out maybe then could the idea of monogamy actual work quite well.

I know that there is nothing I want more than to find that person that will help me achieve a higher level of spiritual understanding. And I have no problem waiting for that person to show up in my life. And, when they do, if I am pure and spiritually evolved and complete, I haven’t even the slightest doubt that it will be right.

Folks….what do YOU think?

Peace, Love, Light!

Enlightenment is the end of suffering – Buddha

I found the above quote being used in the status of a friend on myspace recently, and, from what I have learned over my years of seeking that elusive thing called enlightenment, I believe that the quote is pretty accurate. Though, upon first glance, any such notion can be thought of as impossible.

In the past decade or so, I have gone from a complete skeptic to an avid student of much regarding this process and even still take this concept with a grain of salt. But, from the standpoint of looking at the true nature of what the concept means, it is clear to see that when someone becomes enlightened, they truly do end their suffering.

Now, what does it mean to be enlightened? And, how does the average person achieve such a state? I used to really believe that the notion of enlightenment was kind of pointless to say the least. When I did not understand what it was, I suppose, it seemed so far away.

Over the past year or so I have become an avid practitioner of Centerpointe’s Holosync Solution Program and I am currently working my way through the second level of the Awakening series. I have been studying the support materials, which are truly vast, as well as the Big Mind, Big Heart and Path of the Human Being dvd and cd sets which came along with level one of the series.

I suppose I have mentioned my experience with Holosync in passing. But, it truly has been pretty life changing. I actually had my initial experience with Awakening Prologue around mid 2006. And, I noticed significant changes in my ability to control my states of awareness and, as I noticed while using the Wild Divine Biofeedback software, my ability to see and catalyze noticeable changes in my state of relaxation.

To explain a bit of what it is, I would say that the Holosync Program uses technology that effects the states of the brain through music. Its a binaural beat technology that enables the brain to enter into certain rhythms or states.

I have used other brainwave music soundtracks before, but the reason I settled on Centerpointe’s Holosync Solution program, is simply because Bill Harris has really designed a very structured and progressive way of strengthening your mind and enhancing it’s ability to deal with higher and higher levels of stress.

By enabling you to deal with more stress, you react less to the situations in life that, under normal circumstances, would have really bothered you.
What happens then? Whats the point?

Well, this process of enabling you to deal with ever increasing levels of stress, helps you to create a space inside your mind that grows between your emerging and expanding self and the stress that used to control you.

To be honest, what the technology actually does is provide a stimulus that is similar to stress, and that stress forces your brain to develop in such a way that actually makes it stronger. It is kind of like the stress that exercise places on us but applied to the functioning of the brain.

It creates a kind of subtle chaos in your brain and by continuing to use the soundtracks, your brain eventually is forced to “escape to a higher order” and it grows to be able to deal with higher levels of stress. When you deal better with stress, what then happens?

Well, simply put, you suffer less than you once did. You develop a greater peace, by increasing awareness of your states of mind or consciousness.

Isn’t this what meditation is supposed to do? I like to think that meditation in conjunction with shadow work enables me to realize that we are not really living in a world that is dualistic….but that everything that arises in our conscious mind is in fact of the same nature as anything else. Depending on our perception, anything can go from good to bad.

Zen, Taoism, and just about any other justifiable self help technology or religion, teaches that nothing exists exclusively from anything else. They teach us that what is good cannot exist without what is bad. Or that light cannot exist without dark. Men cannot exist without women, and up would not be knowable without down.

In all of the wisdom traditions, it is explained that balance in mind and emotion is what is needed to find lasting personal growth?

I think what is most confusing about that idea is that no one is ever truly able to explain how that growth really manifests. What does it mean to achieve balance? And, why does it have a correlation with enlightenment and the mind?

When you begin the process of meditation, growth, and spiritual development, you begin to see how hard life is. Awareness is the ability to see and experience the difficulties in life, and NOT REACT to them. And, as awareness begins to increase, many aspects of our lives which were once hidden from us begin to come up.

It is when we react to the difficulties in life that we cause ourselves emotional and mental pain. In other words, the pain we experience in life, the suffering that we typically blame on external circumstances, comes from within our own minds and from our reactions to life!

Balance is the ability to have good or bad circumstances come our way and not overtly react to them in a way that creates stress. It is the ability to go through life and no longer require those things that typically distract us from ourselves.

Television, drugs, video games, unconscious and unloving sexual activity, anger, depression, self loathing, binge eating, are all there to distract us from ourselves and prevent us from finding ( or deciding on) our higher purpose.

Everything in life, we are finding, is brought about as a direct manifestation of things that are inside of our own minds.

Life is what you make it. Or, rather, life is what you perceive it to be.

Life and the universe are simply reflections of our ego. They are mirrors of our own consciousness. Just as a computer is only as good as its programmer, the results of your life will only be as good as the input you knowingly or unknowingly provide.

And the ego, what is this ego? It is a grouping or map of the unconscious habits that we have developed in order to keep us safe in, what we perceive to be, an unsafe world.

Everything we do unconsciously is a reflection of the patterns that we have solidified within our ego.

Wouldn’t meditation, time spent in contemplation, time spent in conscious love communion with your partner, in all actuality, be better and more functional ways to decompress than grabbing a beer and turning on the television?

The whole point, is to develop your awareness, to the point that you can stay conscious throughout your day of your self and your interactions with others and with your world.

Do the work to expand yourself consciously!

Watch yourself as you go throughout your day. Open up the dialog with the voice in the back of your mind.

This is far from an easy process but, trust me, it is worth it in the end.

Peace, Love, Light!
