You know, sometimes this process of trying to find some sort of sense of higher consciousness can be pretty difficult.

In some ways, this thing that I (and many others) have started has sort of become a process in trying to figure out whether or not one can pursue and actually attain a higher state of consciousness in this modern society.

Sure, its one thing to be a yogi in a cave doing handstands and sun salutations seeking oneness with the eternal self. But, when you are living in a modern techofied world, having to interact on a day to day basis and work for a living so that you can one day support a family….this is another thing entirely.

Sometimes it just makes more sense to run off and become a monk.

I would like to think that you all know that I in no way think of myself as a pioneer in this sort of thing. There have been many aspirants, pursuers, and developers of a newly evolved and all encompassing, open to all version of enlightenment.

Andrew Cohen and Ken Wilber are but a few of those that have dissected and pioneered this new path.

But, what I am starting to realize is that what we are really doing is quite possibly akin to the development of the first personal computers.

They were slow, a little dreary, highly complex….but there were glimmers of hope that were beginning to show. There were signs pointing a new more glorious direction and it seemed almost inevitable that magnificent things would be accomplished if the creation of these new devices could be seen to its completion.

Now, we are living in a world where technological advancements happen daily as the speed of communication and information dissemination becomes infinite.

The path of developing my own state of consciousness has been very hard, both for me and for the many who have so boldly decided to traverse this new unknown path. Its different and being different is sometimes very lonely. Even more so, what I have found is that opening the flood gates to the ever expanding river of consciousness sometimes can have results that are less than easy to deal with.

I have spent a lot of time trying to find my way back after traveling a few more steps than I should have down certain rather treacherous paths.

But, this is no different than where the computer was just a few short decades ago. Now, the computer is directly interwoven into every fabric of our daily life and new applications for computer technology are being developed constantly.

This is where I truly see this new path of evolving consciousness going. And, this is what has driven me to seek out as many tools as I could to ease the process of humanity’s evolvement, which eventually resulted in the birthing of the Hacking the Body Mind protocol.

In the end, what my answer has become to those yogi’s who were afforded the luxury of decades of complete solitude is a protocol which employ’s modern technology to speed the process towards total transformation and demystifies the message of expanding consciousness.

I will continuously admit that I am standing on the shoulders of giants in so many ways. But, where this program is unique is how it fits the many pieces together in a way that is completely synergistic.

The synergy comes from applying different things that connect at a central point. That point is to open up the channels of the body and mind and then amplify the internal and external strengths of both while providing a space from which a new humanity can grow and blossom.

Don’t you want to be a part of this new and unfolding evolutionary leap? I know I do.

Greetings,

I hope all is well.

I wanted to go over something that has become clearer to me over the past few years.

Things may seem pretty bleak when we look out our windows and into the world. But, I truly beg to differ. The only reason for this is because I have opened myself up to a new way of looking at the life I live.

So many people that I meet believe that I grew up in a family of vegans and vegetarians. They think that I have just always had a flair for healthy living. But, once again, I beg to differ!

In fact, I chuckle to myself a little when folks tell me things like that because it is so far from the truth. The truth of the matter is that I was pretty typically unconscious for the majority of my early life.

I ate everything. I didn’t exercise at all. I thought yoga, tofu, vegetarianism, and spirituality were all kind of a joke.

What can I say? I was a complete skeptic.

The point of this rant is that I made a choice to live for some higher purpose. I listened to that inner voice that told me there was something better out there for me. I have in no way found actualization in this direction. But, I have found a direction.

More so, I created a direction, a whole new direction.

This only happened because I chose to open myself up to other possibilities. I felt that a different kind of life was needed to achieve personal satisfaction and so the search began for me to find it.

Right now, today, the world and its people are being given a choice.

Junk foods or superfoods, centrum or goji berries.

Google is the perfect example of an entity that serves choice. You arrive at their webpage and can either open up to a world of debauchery or a world of enlightened consciousness.

Google can either open up a world where every possibility exists for you to waste away every moment of your life, or you can choose something different. You can choose to learn something new, to expand your knowledge, to build a name for yourself, to build a business.

The choice is yours as it always is. We each have to be the ones to choose the things we want for our lives.

But, the key is, to choose to not choose. We have to get out of the world of duality. We have to realize that the borders that seem to separate us, are more like thresholds that bring us together.

We have to learn to acknowledge, accept, and allow everything to flow. We have to learn to stop resisting things we don’t like.

To do this, all of this, is once again, a choice.

Choose to open up, to allow new possibilities to arise for your life, to stop looking at things as opposites, and to realize that everything is here to teach us something.

Disease teaches us that we need to take an active approach toward healing ourselves. Economic disaster teaches that we need to re-prioritize.

We can learn from success, but we can learn even more from failure.

Choose. Just choose.

Peace, love, Life!

So, I just finished my daily practice. I had a rest day from my workout so I basically did a couple qigong forms, some sexual cultivation work ( haha tisk tisk) and then finished off with an hour of yoga.

As is typical, I get pretty inspired as I start to notice the progress I am making in my practices because I start connecting the dots as to what aspects are doing what and it helps me to round things out.

As my practice has developed over the years I have indeed made some interesting realizations. And, I still do.

I wanted to go into one of them today. And, that is the role that a deep yogic and energetic cultivation practice can play in the development of foundational strength.

I have always been more of a health adventurer rather than a purist. In fact, I kind of hate the idea of doing only one thing because there are so many benefits to be taken from so many different types of practices and in many ways they all overlap.

Not only do they overlap, but, according to Ken Wilber’s integral model (which is what I look at when I truly want to understand the nature of holistic development), doing a range of practices (or spiritually cross training) actually enhances the effects that you take from each of the practices individually and creates an exponential growth curve.

I will go over that more deeply in a future blog post.

Today I just wanted to talk about what I believe yoga and energy cultivation methods bring to the table when being used as a support for a weightlifting or fitness regimen.

We all know what yoga is by now, I think. So, I will not go over that too much. Energy work though, can be a little confusing as it isn’t so well understood and it does encompass a vast quantity of practices developed over many thousands of years.

In my interpretation of energy work, I am basically using it as a generic term that refers to still or moving meditation (tai chi, qi gong etc.) and different types of sexual cultivation practices (tantra, Taoist sexual kung fu…). And, at its core, there is always some type of deep breath awareness that serves as its base and enables us to direct the flow of energy within our body (pranayama in yoga, Zen breathing etc.)

Now, over the years, and more so even recently, I am coming to the realization that, energy work sits on top of everything else as what effects us most deeply in the pursuit of strength development.
The reason for this is that as energy is released, cultivated, and allowed to flow more freely, it begins to provide a level of buoyancy. It really does make one feel lighter. What I mean to say is that it provides a deeper support to all other levels of matter manifestation, including what we see as the physical.

The Taoists have spent many millennia developing one of the most comprehensive approaches to development of any other culture and they maintain the perspective that developing the subtle body is of utmost importance. That is certainly not to say that they did not believe developing the physical body was important….because it absolutely is and has so many benefits that can NOT be understated.

But the Taoists believed that a well muscled person was only as strong as his or her internal body and organ system. Qi gong, although having a deep impact on the flow of energy, also develops the different organs. In their system of anatomy, the Chinese mapped out the many channels, meridians, and corresponding points that exist all over the body. Each one of these roughly corresponds to particular organs within the body….kidneys, liver, heart, lungs, spleen etc.

What lies within each pathway is what is known as chi (or qi, ki, energy, life force, or prana). And illness (physical, mental, or emotional) is created as a result of energy being blocked at a certain channel, meridian, or point. And, if the energy is flowing unimpeded than all of the body’s organs are strong and that in turn strengthens the body’s capacity for muscular development.

After all, it’s really the organs that feed the body its nutrients which allow muscles to develop properly. And, also as the organs and body centers are strengthened, than you will find that you can tend to go harder in your workout, you recover faster, and you don’t get injured nearly as often.

Yoga, at its base, is energy work as well and it actually gives you a range of benefits that are similar. What gives yoga its effect on energy is the concentration on the breath. Breathing deeply and with awareness is what enables someone to cultivate and move the energy. And, so that is why it forms the basis of all moving and still meditative practices.

But, the reason I wanted to go over it here, was due to its effect on strengthening those parts of the physical body that really cannot be developed through a standard weight training regimen.

Yoga, trains the body in a way that stimulates energetic production and awareness, it nourishes all the organs by creating a combined contraction and expansion within each of them, as you work into your folds, twists, and bends, it trains a deeper awareness of your nervous system, brain and spine, and it also strengthens the bones, all of the joints, and all of the muscles as it forces you to move in and out of positions that you would normally never move into.

I think this, to me, is the most compelling reason to undertake a yoga practice.

Yoga, though, goes so much deeper than that. It is much deeper than I can cover in a single blog post. It is so far removed from its current portrayal in the commercial world that it’s kind of ridiculous. But, there are many benefits that can be gained as a result of regular practice.

In so many ways and for so many reasons, yoga and energetic practice can enhance your approach to fitness.

Over the years, I have noticed a dramatic shift in the way I train, focusing less on lifting weights (a typical crossfit styled workout while being very tough and extremely effective lasts about 10-15 minutes) and really expanding my focus on energetic cultivation.

I have to say my yoga practice has gone in and out over the years as I have tried different cultivation means, but I always go back to it as a staple because it is so effective and multifaceted.

I would say out of a typical day of practice, I will spend between 3-5 hours doing different things. Out of that time, a fraction of it is spent working out with weights and focusing on the physical body. The vast majority is spent doing qigong, meditating, and doing yoga.

And that is how it seems to work best. Because I very very rarely if ever get injured and I haven’t gotten sick in a very long while (I used to be sick all the time in my younger days).

Thank you guys so much.

Peace, Love, Light!

From certain perspectives, it is a strange fact that humans tend to be guided more by what is painful than by what brings them pleasure.

In some ways, we can say that this has created a somewhat imbalanced view of reality where there are now more reasons to be in pain than there are to experience pleasure. Even my own search for health was created out of deep inner drive to no longer be sick.

So many of us are overweight. So many of us are dying of diseases of indulgence. But, we refuse to make the choice to stop overindulging even though we know on a fundamental level that this is driving us to the diseases that we would rather avoid.

We are living in a backwards reality.

We are pushed by all of our largest media sources to indulge in all of our most sensuous pleasures. We are sold fast foods, convenience foods of all kinds and then we are sold seemingly quick fixes, pills that lead us even further down the hole.

Over the past several decades this has created a culture of people who are constantly in some measure of pain. And, what is amazing is that so many different types of pain are created solely by means of the overindulgence in food and laziness.

We can’t move, we can’t think, we can’t live and the bright and shiny part of this is that we KNOW it. We are waking up at a rapid pace. And, this is why I am motivated in the way that I am.

My motivation to get away from pain resulted in me discovering a whole new level of pleasure. A level of pleasure that says to me that it is possible to never be sick. It IS possible to experience increasing levels of fitness, inner cleanliness, mental focus and clarity on an ongoing basis.

So, yes, let your pain be your motivator! And, as you begin to experience the pleasure of moving in a new direction, your focus should simply begin to shift to experience deeper and deeper levels of pleasure that have little to do with satisfying your taste buds.

As you become aware of the subtleties that have eluded you, you will know that an inner utopia is possible, and what it is going to take to achieve it.

It all starts with creating a lifestyle that encourages abundant health. It doesn’t have to take over your life but fitness, cleansing, high potency nutrition, and meditation must become at least a part of your new life.

What I realized early on, was that health of body and mind was the first step in a life of vitality. It is the first thing we need to find.

So seek your path, map out your goals, and achieve them.

Peace, Love, Life!
